A new husband and wife, Adam and Karen, are in a time of transition, relocating for new jobs and waiting for their house to be finished. Adam befriends a girl who is dying. Karen befriends a homeless man who wears a paper bag on his head. Their strange new life threatens to tear the couple apart.
